About The Cover The original carving was created from Montana Black Cottonwood Bark by artist Ron Johnson, using Busch Burs and a Pfingst Flexible Shaft Machine. The bark is harvested from fallen trees estimated to be between 50 to 80 years old. To the artist, the total uniqueness of each piece of bark affords creative options that are virtually unlimited.
